LANDSCAPE PAINTING
|
The goal of the class is to become familiar with the basic elements of creating landscape painting, with special importance laid on capturing light effects using a simple plein air method. Students will learn how to render a landscape starting from its simplest elements and proceeding to finer details and relationships. Various aspects of landscape painting will be covered, depending on the level of each student. These will include understanding values, color relationships, perspective, drawing, and different ways of handling pigment. More advanced students will also be guided in producing larger scale paintings from their plein air studies. A mixture of traditional and modern practices will be taught.
