This course will be divided into two sessions. Students may enroll for either session, however we advise enrolling in both for a well-balanced artistic feast!
Session 1, September 21 – October 19
Little artists have the opportunity to get their hands dirty in media usually unavailable to their age group. Projects will include making paper from pulp, a variety of printmaking techniques (lithograph, linoleum block carving, etc), and raku clay hand-building.
Session 2, October 26 – November 23
In this session little artists will enjoy an emphasis on drawing and painting. Some projects will be more abstract in nature as students explore color and materials. Kids will also start to learn traditional principles of drawing such as perspective, shading, and drawing accuracy, in fun projects. Each project will take one or two weeks.
Don’t know what to do while your kids are in art class? Parents or older siblings are welcome to join the Drawing class in the studio next door! The tuition includes the use of studio drawing supplies. All levels are welcome, so come and flex your artistic muscles and learn the fundamentals simultaneously with your kids!
