This course will cover the process of painting a still-life in oil from graphite drawing to finished painting that employs a simple model of light and how it affects the hue, value, and chroma of a surface. Topics covered include: composing a still-life, drawing using 2-D and 3-D shape/form mapping, transferring a drawing to canvas, relating values using a small poster study, ébauche (under-painting) technique, basic color theory and palette organization. The class is open to all levels of experience.  Students may also choose to do a Master Copy.

PLEASE NOTE: Class on August 3 and August 10 will end at 1pm. Class on these dates will be 3 hours instead of 4. Your tuition reflects this adjustment.
